About Me & My Practice

Drawing on more than three decades of experience as a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist, it has been a privilege to accompany individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult and profound moments. My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bishop’s University, followed by an Honours Bachelor of Social Work from Lakehead University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. Having completed a wide range of advanced clinical training and certifications, I am able to draw from a robust toolkit of diverse therapeutic modalities to tailor our sessions to your exact needs.

Much of my work has focused on oncology, palliative care, grief and bereavement, and supporting those living with anxiety and navigating unexpected life events.  Over the course of my career, I have worked in both hospital and community settings, supporting individuals and families facing a wide range of challenges. A special focus of my work has been supporting younger families when a child has cancer, or when a parent is living with cancer. Whether you are the patient, a loved one, or a caregiver I understand the unique emotional and practical challenges that serious illness can bring to family life and the importance of compassionate support during these difficult times.  Those who have suffered a loss will receive the time, support and space to heal.

While pain and loss are part of the human experience, they do not have to be faced alone. Regardless of what you are facing, I am committed to walking alongside you with compassion and care. I integrate  Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)  and  Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and provide a holistic and practical approach to mental health. While CBT provides helpful tools to identify, challenge, and manage the thought patterns that fuel worry and anxiety, EFT allows us to go deeper. Through EFT, I help clients safely accept, understand, regulate, and express their emotions. Together, this combination helps you change how you think and heal how you feel.

Today, my work is centred in private practice. I also serve as a consultant and counsellor with Wellspring Cancer Support and the Ontario Medical Association Physician Health Program.
